North Devon Tatters

Shirley Hill writes: We started the group in October 2006 and meet on the 4th Saturday of each month, from 10.30 am till 3.30 pm. There are at present eight members, and at our first meeting in October we concentrated on turning the knot as only two could tat.
In November, by which time everyone could tat, we made Christmas rings. At our January meeting (photo above) we learnt about split rings with one or two shuttles.

The candles in the group photo were part of our study concerning split rings and pearl tatting. The group made friendship bands, and the candles, which I made up some time ago with split rings and pearl tatting with beads, gave another dimension. Needless to say, the candles are never used!!

I have attached two photos of Devon places near us. One of a little part of our village, and a view of RHS Rosemoor, the best gardens in the West, with all year round interest, but best visited May - June.
