Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts, Aintree

This Show is held at Aintree Racecourse, on the outskirts of Liverpool, home of the famous Grand National. If you don't want to drive, there is a train station close by with lots of trains from Liverpool.

The stand was organised by Eira Hughes and the tatting is all hers. As the show was in April, there is a bit of a Spring feel to the tatting displayed.

"Just living is not enough" said the butterfly,
"One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."

(Hans Christian Andersen)
"The butterfly counts not months but moments, and yet has time enough"
(Rabindranath Tagore)

Eira used these quotations to add to the butterfly mood! A good idea others might like to use for tatting displays, or for tatted cards. The internet is a good source – just Google "butterfly quotations" or whatever subject you want.

Hand-made boxes decorated with tatted flowers make the bootees even more special.
