Exhibitions and Events
The Ring of Tatters visits several craft events per year with a demonstration stall, up and down the country. We love to say hello to fellow members of the Ring, or to show how to "flip the knot" to people interested in what tatting is all about!
The fairs we usually attend include the following:
- The Creative Craft Show, at either the NEC Birmingham, or the SEC Glasgow.
- Some of the smaller fairs: recently we have been to Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire and Solihull
Our next events:
Mainly Lace is hosting a Christmas Fair at the National Motorcycle Museum Conference Centre, Solihull, Birmingham, and the Ring of Tatters will have a stand there too.

The Lace Guild has published the details of its triennial competition for 2028, and there are several categories in which tatting might be entered, including
- knotted lace (which includes tatting, filet and Armenian laces) in a traditional style
- lace on the theme of "Legends"
Local Tatting Groups

Ayrshire Tat and Chatters meet at 10am, on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Alloway, Ayr. For more details, see the Ring of Tatters newsletter.

Charnwood Tatters meet at 1.30pm on the 3rd Saturday of each month (2nd Saturday in December) at Shepshed Community Centre, Leicestershire, which is easily accessible from Junction 23 of the M1. Visitors and new members are always welcome - please see our facebook page.
This group meets every other Tuesday afternoon, 2-4pm, at the Insomnia Café, Community Room, Littleover, Derby DE23 6FQ

The Great Lakes Lace Group include lacemakers from several traditions, including tatters. They hold regular monthly meetings.
The Palmetto Tatters (South Carolina) are holding regular monthly meetings. The next Palmetto Tat Days are on August 22-25, 2024. For details, please see their website (link above).

The Shuttlebirds Tatting Guild in Spokane, WA, hold regular monthly meetings. They also have a blog.
South Lakeland Lace Makers are a group of lace makers and tatters who meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month, near Kendal in Cumbria. For details of their meetings, see their latest newsletter or their website (link above).
This is a social gathering on the 3rd Sunday of each month,
where you can bring a project and craft, or come and learn one.
